From a TikTok dance workshop to flash sketching, the student Inter-Arts Council’s All Arts Night on Saturday, February 22 from 8:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m. in the new Gruss Center for Arts and Design (GCAD) promises to entertain. All current members of the School community are invited to attend.
According to Student Council Arts Rep Samika Harihan ‘20, the Inter-Arts Council is comprised of 18 students from across the arts. She hopes the event will encourage all Lawrentians to experience the arts.
“We are working towards integrating the arts into Lawrenceville life and hope these social events encourage kids to push themselves to explore the arts,” Harihan said.
The event will include dance, theater and musical performances in GCAD’s second floor flex room throughout the night. Fifth Former Sam Chang will lead a flash sketching workshop, and other workshops will cover watercolor technique, friendship bracelet making, and sketching and blending.
Videos submitted by Lawrenceville’s Film Club will be streaming throughout the building and an exhibit featuring student artwork and photography will also be on display. Free food from House of Cupcakes, Dippin’ Dots, and a trail mix making station will punctuate the performances.
Rex Brodie, GCAD’s director of Design and Fabrication, will also be on hand to teach students how to use the facility’s 3D printers and other equipment.
“We hope the event will give students a chance to relax and unwind before finals next week,” Harihan said.
